COMPETION RULES

Singles and Team Competitions to be played over 18 holes of golf
Play will be over either the Burnside or Buddon Links, Carnoustie
Teams will consist of mixed experience and ability
Order of Play and Teams to be drawn prior to day of play
Order of Play and Teams to be published in Guide & Gazzette the week and day before play
Order of Play and Teams to be displayed in the rugby club the day before and on day of play
Single and Team Competitions to be played by Stableford Rules with full handicap difference
Singles winner will be the player who scores the highest number of points
Team winners will be the team who scores the highest accumulative number of points
Team scores will be the highest 3 out of 4 accumulative scores
In the event of a draw there’ll be a countback over the last 3 holes until a winner is found
Scorecard will indicate the Stroke Index and order at which handicap strokes are recieved
Local Rule : two shot penalty for a lost ball, drop and play from approximate area
Local Rule : two shot penalty for being out of bounds, drop and play from approximate area
Local Rule : two shot penalty for playing an incorrect ball
Local Rule : free lift and drop from all paths
All other rules per R&A Rules Book
Players cannot win more than 1 nearest the pin or 1 longest drive

No blue denim jeans or drinking of alcohol permitted on the course

Players can drink as much alcohol as they want in the Rugby Club

Guys check out teh SRU website Fixture list we now have Hawick Linden in Feb and the match against Harris is 18 April - some work needs doing to avoid a clash!!!

All please note ....

Golf goes ahead 18th April 2009.

The rugby committee have agreed previously that unless the team has a good cup run then we wouldn't take any re-arrange league fixture for the 18th April.

I've also been in contact with the rugby committee to advise of the date clash and been advised they are to contact Harris to reschedule the game and to proceed as already discussed.

So in summary ....
